At CSC we recognise that landscaping is a critical asset rather than a discretionary cost. We understand that in the modern realm, green spaces function as essential health infrastructure that actively mitigate heat, manage stormwater and foster health.

ANZAC Centenary Memorial Walk

Client: Department for Infrastructure and Transport | City of Adelaide

A landmark transformation of Kintore Avenue into a public commemorative space — jointly funded by three levels of government and recognised with four awards including the 2016 Colonel William Light Award for Excellence in Design.

The project was completed in April 2016 and was a significant transformation of Kintore Avenue, which was previously a typical roadway, transforming it into a public space for gathering, and a place for education, reflection and contemplation. The project commemorates 100 years since our involvement in the First World War and was jointly funded by the Commonwealth Government, the State Government and City of Adelaide.

The project consisted of a widened footpath, lighting and a new boundary wall that combines 90º and 45º angled steel blades, opening up views to Government House while maintaining visual privacy to specific areas. An interpretive wall with etched markers and imagery commemorates all Australian service men and women who have died in conflicts.

The project has won multiple awards including 2017 AIA (SA) The Gavin Walkley Award for Urban Design, 2017 AIA (SA) City of Adelaide Prize, 2017 AIA (SA) City of Adelaide People’s Choice Award and the 2016 Australian Civic Trust Colonel William Light Award for Excellence in Design.
