Smyth Memorial Chapel

Client: Adelaide Cemeteries Authority

A meticulous conservation of a heritage chapel for the Adelaide Cemeteries Authority — recognised with both the 2019 Bob Such Award and the 2020 David Saunders Award for Heritage Architecture.

The Project consisted of the conservation and repair of the entire building, including full re-roofing, comprehensive remedial works to stonework, carving of missing stone features, and uplifting and replacement of internal flagstone floor and subbase. The project was completed in April 2019 and won the 2019 Bob Such Award from the Australian Civic Trust and the David Saunders Award for Heritage from the 2020 South Australian Institute of Architects Awards.
