MFS Angle Park Training Centre

Client: Department for Infrastructure and Transport | Metropolitan Fire Services

Australia's first live-fire structural training facility — built from modified shipping containers with sophisticated ventilation, enabling MFS crews to train across realistic house, business, and high-rise fire scenarios.

The Angle Park Structural Firefighting Training Facility is Australia’s first live fire training facility. Constructed out of 16 heavily modified shipping containers with a sophisticated mechanical ventilation system and encapsulated in a shed, it is a large ‘burn hall’, with a wide variety of live fire scenarios including house, business and high-rise fires. This modern burn hall is a state-of-the-art, purpose-built facility where crews can hone their skills, to the benefit of firefighters and the broader South Australian community and provides MFS firefighters with a far more realistic and diverse training environment for structure fires throughout their careers.
