“Tracking changes and advising on the appropriate action to remain on budget is key to cost control”

We play the role of cost advocate throughout our cost management process

THE PROCESS

Utilising our estimating software, we begin by creating a computer-based cost model using the briefed information and designs, which helps us to establish realistic cost parameters. Our extensive database of benchmarked costs allows us to evaluate the economics of a  project and confirm that our client’s budget is achievable. We then identify any cost risks and establish a strategy for minimising their effect or removing them entirely.

DESIGN PHASE

During the design stage, we update our cost plan in line with the development of the design documents and establish key cost checkpoints in parallel with key design stage milestones.

MILESTONES

At each milestone,we review and check the cost of all building elements. This system allows us to identify and report on scope creep and cost overruns as they occur, enabling us to take immediate and effective action to maintain the budget and avoid surprises.

CONSTRUCTION PHASE

Throughout the construction phase, we track changes to costs and advise on appropriate action to stay within budget. We regularly evaluate the cost status of the project and communicate the information in comprehensive and succinct financial reports.
